Compliance and applications for Air Emission License requirements

Industries who were previously in possession of certificates or registration issued under the Atmospheric Pollution Prevention Act (APPA) is required to apply for an Air Emission License (AEL) in terms of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act (NEMAQA). 3rd Generation assists our clients with AEL applications to the relevant governing authorities. 3rd Generation also offers our clients assistance with compliance to the licenses.

Stack emission testing

3rd Generation performs emissions compliance testing in accordance with the EPA methodology to measure SO2, NO, NO2, CO and particulate matter emitted from boiler, burners, incinerators and various other process stacks. Stack emission testing follows various techniques and procedures according to US EPA methods.

Ambient air monitoring

3rd Generations services in ambient monitoring include the design, optimization and management of ambient air quality monitoring networks, together with data management and quality assurance. 3rd Generation offers monitoring services that include real-time gas and particulate analyzers, dust falls out buckets and passive samples for long term monitoring purposes. Sampling can be performed for a range of organic and inorganic pollutants.

Water Testing

3rd Generation has specialist knowledge by collaboration with internationally recognized partners and will assist our clients with:
  • Developing suitable monitoring programs as per the requirements of our clients
  • Compliance water and sewer monitoring with regards to SANS 241 and Sewer permit standards
  •  Annual Full SANS parameter samples.
  • Annual Full SANS effluent permits parameter samples.
  • Accredited with SANAS as a testing laboratory for chemical and bacteriological tests and accredited to specification ISO 17025
  • Ad Hoch sampling and recommendations on public water quality samples.
  • Assist with operational monitoring for sewer and water plants, inspection, analysis and reporting.
  • Provide recommendations with regard to processes at the different works
  • Assist with training of staff regarding methods and instrumentation.
  • Assist our clients with water safety plans and other water-related protocols
  •  Prepare monthly reports with regards to Blue and Green drop regulations
